Our bamboo fly rods are constructed within the natural strength and structure of the bamboo itself. Each section of the rod is precision tapered and milled to create a pre-determined rod action.
All Western Legacy bamboo rods are semi-hollow to produce a lighter rod with a crisp action. They are fitted with nickel silver ferrules, agate stripping guides, silk wraps and nickel silver reel seats. These rods are not just fishing tools - they are works of art that stroke the water with all the delicacy and accuracy of a brush on canvas.
Our new T.L. Johnson Angler Series bamboo rods are built from the same hand-selected Tonkin cane and uncompromising standards as our Western Legacy rods, but we’ve made them more affordable. They feature a single tip, and are hand oiled, with a cork and aluminum reel seat.
